Poor Dolly Parton; the libs are trying to use her as a pawn yet again. She took to Nightline to discuss her role in the film “9 to 5,” when correspondent David Wright tried to get political.
Wright referenced a clip of Jane Ronda describing her character’s boss in a rather unpleasant way, and desperately tried to link this fictional character to President Trump with this verbal trash,
“The sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical portrayed so effectively in that movie by actor Dabney Coleman hasn’t exactly disappeared from the culture. We have a president of the United States who said the things on that bus.”
Grasping for straws, are we? Parton didn’t take the bait and shut him down. Hard.
“I’m not addressing that. I do not get into that. Of course I have my opinion about everybody and everything. But I learned a long time ago, keep your damn mouth shut if you want to stay in show business. I’m not in politics. I am an entertainer.”
Wright tried to derail her statement with, “And yet you’re also a role model,” to which Parton had the classy response,
“Yes, I am. That’s why I don’t talk about people.”
ABC "Nightline" reporter David Wright desperately tried to get Dolly Parton to describe Donald Trump as the creepy sexist boss in her movie "9 to 5." She shut him down: "I'm not in politics. I'm an entertainer." https://t.co/Omr0spzM9m
