Kathy Griffin may have lost half her audience while holding Donald Trump’s faux-severed head like a hunting trophy (or, half of whatever was left), but at least she’s gained a new best friend: Colin Kaepernick.
On Sunday, Griffin, who has been largely silent on social media after being cleared by the Secret Service of making actionable threats against the president, took to Twitter Sunday to offer words of encouragement to kneeling NFL players, and, specifically, to their fearless leader, out-of-work second string QB Colin Kaepernick.
Aww, that’s sweet. It’s good to have heroes, I guess.
Sadly for Griffin, the love went as unanswered as all of Colin’s agent’s calls to NFL teams; Kaepernick, who has a girlfriend, did not respond to Griffin’s tweet.
